12.06.2024 Über den Pico Fernandes und die Vereda do Pau Seco zu den 25 Quellen

Anfahrt: Calheta - Unterer Rabacal-Parkplatz an der ER211

Verlauf: Vom Parkplatz zum Levadahaus am Ende des Reitertunnels, ab hier auf dem Endast der 25-Quellen-Levada bis zum neuen Wasserfall. Weiter ging es über den Ginster-Serpentinenweg zur neuen Druckröhre, hier haben wir den Zugang zur Begleitpiste gesucht, aber sind im Stechginster steckengeblieben.
Also weiter auf dem PR hoch zu den neu gebauten Strukturen unterhalb des alten Speichersees.
Etwas unklar ist mir die Funktion der beiden Pumpen, die hier gebaut wurden.
Wie auch immer, weiter zum alten Speicherbecken, ein Stück entlang der ER110 und dann zum neuen Speicherbecken und dem oberen kleinen Becken in der Ribeira do Alecrim.
Dann über die Serra zur alten Brücke über die Ribeira do Lajeado und durch den Ginster zum Pico Fernandes.
Abstieg auf der Vereda do Pau Seco zu den 25 Quellen, wo wir nach kurzer Zeit wieder etwas ins Abseits flüchten mussten.
Der ursprüngliche geplante Abstieg auf dem Weg zur Levada da Rocha Vermelha war gesperrt, der Weg durch den Rocha-Vermelha-Tunnel wäre allerdings, wie wir später erfahren haben, problemlos möglich gewesen. So musste wir in den sauren Apfel beissen und im Touristrom mitspazieren.
Immerhin konnte ich meine These bestätigen, dass vom Stichtunnel unter der Levada do Risco, den ich 2022 entdeckt hatte, eine Röhre mit Trinkwasser auf die 25-Quellen-Levada runterführt und in dieser vergraben zum Reitertunnel und weiter Richtung ER211 führt.
So folgten wir den Spuren der vergrabenen Röhre zum Furado Novo und beim Levadahaus musste ich noch kurz abklären, ob der Rocha-Vermelha-Tunnel wirklich gesperrt war, wie es oben auf der Tafel angekündigt war. War er nicht.....
Dann zurück zum Parkplatz.

Distanz: 19 Km, 700 Hm Aufstieg, 700 Hm Abstieg

Start: 09.20 ER211

Ende: 16.00 ER211

Zustand: Der Ginsteraufstieg war schon etwas zugewachsen, aber gut zu gehen
Der Zugang zum Pico Fernandes über die Brücke war ziemlich zugewachsen, aber wo ein Wille ist, gibt es auch einen Weg!
Der Pau Seco-Weg ist in sehr gutem Zustand
Der Rummel auf dem Weg von den 25 Quellen zum Reitertunnel war schlicht eine Zumutung!

Bemerkungen: Wenn man den Rückweg über die Levada auslässt und zur Levada da Rocha Vermelha runtergeht, eine sehr einsame Runde, so war das Gefühl danach eher durchmischt!
