17.06.2022 Furado Velho und Furado Novo

Anfahrt: Calheta - Ponto Novo

Verlauf: Start beim westlichen Ponto, Abstieg zum Furado Velho, etwa 1/3 des Tunnels ist gut bebeghbar, danach sind wir umgekehrt, weil der Schlamm wirklich tief und unausweichlich ist.
Auf der 'Levada do Furado Velho', die neu hergerichtet wurde und sogar einen eigenen PR-Namen bekomen hat, angenehm durch die beiden Tunnels bis zum ersten Abzweig nach oben zum östlichen Ponto. Weiter zur Brücke über die Ribeira do Alecrim, welche im Vergleich zu 2013 kaum wiederzuerkennen ist. Weiter kommt man nahtlos zum Ende der allgemein als Levada do Risco bezeichneten aktiven Levada, welche ja eigentlich keine eigenständige Levada ist und zusammen mit der 'Levada do Furado Velho' die historische Levada do Risco oder Velha do Rabacal bildete (vgl. auch Historische Entwicklung der Levadas um Rabacal und auf der Südseite zwischen Ribeira Brava und Ponta do Pargo. Das Wasser wird hier gestaut und zuerst verrohrt, später kurz vor dem Furado Novo über eine steile Vertikallevada in die Levada Vinte e Cinco Fontes geleitet.
Auf der Levada do Risco sind wir plötzlich ins Getümmel um Rabacal geraten, aber ich war das letzte Mal 2012 hier, und ich hatte noch ein paar Sachen, die ich mir anschauen wollte, die mich dazumal noch nicht interessiert hatten.
Zum Beispiel der spektakuläre Verlauf zur Madre durch die Felswand und hinter dem Wasserfall. Und ich hatte noch etwas Hoffnung, dass das Absperrgitter vielleicht gerade heute nicht abgeschlossen und der Zugang hinter den Wasserfall zugänglich sein könnte, so wie in den 3 Videos:

Leider nein, alles verriegelt, was ja irgendwie auch vernünftig ist angesichts der Ausrüstung der Touristen hier am Aussichtspunkt. Aber der Ort ist trotz Dichtestress sehr schön und die Regenbogen in der Gischt sind toll!
Das zweite, was mich interessierte, war der Ausgang der Galeria do Rabacal, die etwas unterhalb des Riscoweges etwa 560 Meter in den Berg geht und Trinkwasser sammelt. Natürlich ist auch hier der Zugang gesperrt, aber ich konnte immerhin den Stolleneingang sehen. Wie genau das Wasser von hier zur Levada Vinte e Cinco Fontes gelangt, kann man natürlich auch nicht sehen, jedensfalls weiss ich, dass das Rohr irgendwann auf den Begleitweg der Levada Vinte e Cinco Fontes trifft und in diesem bis zum Furado Novo verläuft. Da kamen wir dann ja später hin.
Also zurück im Touristrom und Abstieg am Ende der Levada do Risco über den interessanten Aussichtspunkt Rocha dos Louros zur Levada Vinte e Cinco Fontes kurz vor dem Furado Novo. Hier kommt der erwähnte Zufluss aus der Levada do Risco herunter, und entlang der Ribeira do Alecrim kann man über eine gesicherte, aber ziemlich ausgesetzte zuführende Levada bis ins Bachbett mit einem kleinen Poco gelangen.
Ebenfalls kurz vor dem Tunneleingang taucht das erwähnte Trinkwasserrohr aus dem Begleitweg auf und verläuft im Tunnel oberhalb der Levada Vinte e Cinco Fontes. Nach dem Tunnel zweigt zuerst die Levada Vinte e Cinco Fontes nach Osten ab, und das Rohr verschwindet wieder im Trassee des Weges, der zur ER211 führt. Beim Kuhgitter unterwegs sieht man das Rohr, das in die Trinkwasseraufbereitungsanlage kurz vor dem Parkplatz führt.
Wir haben die ER211 beim Parkplatz gekreuzt und sind entlang der historischen Levada Vinte e Cinco Fontes, heute nur noch eine staubige Piste, um den nächsten Lombo gefolgt. Ab hier führt ein schöner Weg durch den blühenden Ginster zur verfallenen Quinta dos Tis und weiter zur ER110.
Noch ein Abstecher zum Pico Gordo liessen wir uns nicht nehmen, der Blick von hier oben ist wirklich sehr imposant.
Zurück mehr oder weniger weglos zum Ausgangspunkt.

Zustand: Die Wege im Rabacal sind alles in gutem Zustand, ebenso der Aufstieg über die Quinta dos Tis
Der Aufstieg zum Pico Gordo ist teilweise weglos, ebenso der Abstieg, aber bei guter Sicht kein Problem

Bemerkungen: Schöne Wanderung entlang meist einsamen Pfaden, einzig der Abstecher zum Risco-Wasserfall ist sehr gut frequentiert
