04.05.2019 Einlaufrunde auf dem Caniço-Trail um Garajau

Anfahrt: Caniço de Baixo - Garajau

Verlauf: Von der Estrada do Cristo Rei zuerst westlich und dann zur Cristo Rei-Statue. Aufstieg auf der Estrada da Garajau ins Zentrum von Garajau und auf der Rua do Figueiral und die Impasse do Figueiral zum Geodesico. Anhand der Geocache-Beschreibung haben wir viel über die verschiedenen Geodesico-Klassierungen gelernt. Hier und auch später in Livramento sind wir überall auf Endäste der Levada do Blandy oder allenfalls Endäste aus den grossen Reservoirs der Levada dos Tornos gestossen.
Ab hier Abstieg zur Estrada da Garajau und auf dieser nach Livramento und auf der Rua Joao Batista de Sa ins westliche Zentrum von Canico. Dort trafen wir auf die Levada da Azenha. Dieser entlang gegen die Fliessrichtung zum Relogio de Agua, der ziemlich verfallen ist, und zum gut erhaltenen Zulaufkanal der Moinho da Vargem.
Auf der Levada da Azenha in Fliessrichtung über die Brücke der Ribeira da Ponte da Oliveira zum Wasserreservoir und weiter bis zum Ende oberhalb der Autobahn.
Hier habe ich kurz die Bachunterführung der Ribeira do Livramento angeschaut, die eine unserer beobachteten Wandergruppen einmal als Durchstieg benutzt hat.
Abstieg auf einem Feldweg und etwas weiter unten dann über die Autobahnbrücke der Estrada da Garajau und ab hier über Feldwege und Levadas zur nächsten Querstrasse, etwas weiter unten wieder auf einem Feldweg über die Brücke über den Ribeirinho da Abegoaria zum Caminho da Boca da Cal, gleich weiter auf einem Weg zur Estrada Nova da Garajau und zurück zum Ausgangspunkt.

Distanz: 8,2 Km, 300 Hm Aufstieg, 300 Hm Abstieg

Start: 15.25 Garajau

Ende: 18.15 Garajau

Zustand: Meist sehr gute Feldwege oder Strassen, Bachquerung des Ribeirinho da Abegoaria etwas rutschig

Bemerkungen: Der Canico-Trail, dem wir teilweise gefolgt sind, ist ein Geocache-Powertrail mit etwa 20 Geocaches! Die Feldwege sind auch Teile eines Trailruns (Markierungen)
