10.06.2024 Über die Levada de Marques Teixeira zum Cascalho und zurück über die Levada do Paul und die Levada Seca

Anfahrt: Calheta - Ponta do Sol - Canhas - Covas

Verlauf: Wir sind beim Wassertank in Covas gestartet und auf der verrohrten Levada de Marques Teixeira zum Cascalho hochgestiegen. Da die Levada schon länger nicht mehr freigeschnitten war, wurden wir bis zur Hüfte klatschnass....
Beim Cascalho haben wir einen kurzen Blick in den beeindruckenden Kessel geworfen, danach auf der Zufahrtspiste durch den Tunnel hoch zur Levada do Paul oder Bica da Cana, auf dieser in Fliessrichtung bis zum Abstieg zur Levada Seca.
Den restlichen Abschnitt machten wir dann auf dem neu herausgeputzten CR28.

Distanz: 14.3 Km, 563 Hm Aufstieg, 563 Hm Abstieg

Start: 10.40 Covas

Ende: 16.15 Covas

Zustand: Der Levadaabschnitt auf der Levada de Marques Teixeira ist problemlos, sie wird einfach zu wenig freigeschnitten und ist deshalb bei nassen Verhältnissen etwas unangenehm. Beim Aufstieg zwischen der Schotterpiste und dem Cascalho gibt es eine kurze Kraxelstelle.
Die Levada do Paul oder Bica da Cana ist unproblematisch
Der Abstieg auf den Spuren der Levada Seca war zum Teil völlig zugewachsen und entsprechend mühsam

Bemerkungen: Der Aufstieg zum Cascalho ist immer wiederein Erlebnis, ebenso wieder Cascalho selbst.
