Anfahrt: Canico - Ribeira Brava - Seixal

Verlauf: Wieder einmal eine Wanderung mit Madeira Wonderhikes (Marcio Abreu und Jorge Lobo)
Wir parkten ein erstes Auto in Sao Vicente beim Wasserfall Agua de Alto und fuhren mit dem zweiten Auto nach Seixal zum Aussichtspunkt Veu da Noiva. Über den Betonriegel auf der verschütteten Strasse bis zum alten Tunneleingang. Etwas zurück, dort Aufstieg relativ ausgesetzt über den alten Treppenweg bis zur Ribeira de Joao Delgado mit dem eindrücklichen Wasserfall.
Bachquerung und Aufstieg über Steinstufen. Hier suchten unsere beiden Guides relativ lange nach dem Weiteraufstieg. Nach ein paar Irrwegen ging es weiter steil bergan. An 2 Stellen wunderschöner Blick auf Seixal.
Auf 870 m trifft man auf dem westlichen Abschnitt des Vereda dos Pessegueiros. Ab hier Querung und dann auf dem östlichen Teil des Vereda dos Pessegueiros sehr steil zur Ladeira da Vinha. Hier bei dem verfallenen Weingut wachsen noch ein paar wilde Trauben, etwas tiefer stösst man auf die zuerst zugewachsenen Treppenstufen. Blick auf die alte Küstenstrasse und die alte Brücke des CR23 über die Ribeira do Inferno.
Abstieg auf den Treppenstufen zum Gittertor und weiter zur alten Küstenstrasse.
Zurück auf der gesperrten Strasse und den Tunnel zum Agua de Alto-Wasserfall.


Distanz: 11.8 Km, 970 Hm Aufstieg, 970 Hm Abstieg

Start: 09.15 Seixal Miradouro Veu da Noiva

Ende: 17.45 Sao Vicente Agua de Alto


Zustand:

Der Weg ist stellenweise sehr abschüssig und gefährlich. Weil er wenig begangen wird, ist er häufig schwierig zu finden. Der Aufstieg ist sehr steil!
Der Abstieg auf der östlichen Vereda dos Pessegueiros ist sehr steil und ziemlich gefährlich! Ab der ladeira da Vinha zwar zugewachsen, aber auf altem Treppenweg recht gut machbar.

Bemerkungen: Eine Strecke, die man nur unter kundiger Führung und mit entsprechenden Voraussetzungen angehen sollte (Trittsicherheit, Schwindelfreiheit, gute Kondition)!!
