01.08.2021 Levada da Rouca und Aufstieg nach Chao dos Terreiros, zurück über die Boca da Corrida

Anfahrt: Canico - Estreito de Camara de Lobos - Jardim da Serra

Verlauf: Start in Jardim da Serra, Entlang des Ramal do Pico da Cruz ou da Rouca der Levada da Rouca mit Abstechern zu all den Wasserfassungen und Madres bis zum aktuellen Ende der offenen Levada, dann Aufstieg auf der Schotterpiste Richtung Terreiros und über den Pico do Trevo und den Lombo do Covao ou Estrebataria zu den verfallenen Casas do Dr. Alberto.
Nach kurzer Unsicherheit und Wegsuche dann nach Westen und Norden teilweise durch dichten Ginster und weglos zur Schotterpiste bei der Casa do Pestana, wo uns ein willkommerer Brunnen mit Trinkwasser überraschte.
Weiter auf einer staubigen Schotterpiste zur Crista do Espigao mit einem ersten überwältigenden Blick auf den wolkenverhangenen Encumeada-Pass.
Weiter vorbei durch eine friedliche Kuhherde zur Fonte dos Burros, weiter entlang eines Trampelpfades zu einem weiteren tollen Aussichtpunkt Richtung Encumeada. Aufstieg auf den Pico do Cruz, hier ist eigentlich der Blick rundum und natürlich auch auf den Wolkenfall am eindrücklichsten.
Zurück auf die Piste und weiter nach Osten. Ich wollte unbedingt auf dem Gratweg weitergehen, der zu Beginn offen war. Allerdings wurde das dann im weiteren Verlauf zu einer ersten Ginsterschlacht. Den Rest nach Punkt 1383 ersparten wir uns und wir steigen etwas ab zur Piste, die dann allerdings kurz vor dem Chao dos Terreiros im Ginster endete. Also weiter durchs dichte Gebüsch bis zum Geodesico, ab hier improvisierend zur Trompica mit einem weiteren fantastischen Rundblick vom Encumeada bis zum Pico Grande.
Der weitere Weg war vollkommen zugewachsen und wir mussten auch mehrere Male über Zäune klettern, weil hier der Weg deutlicher war. Rückblickend wäre es schlauer gewesen, den Gratweg nach Trompica zu verlassen und auf den Pisten Richtung Boca da Corrida zu gehen.
Ab der Boca da Corrida noch ein kurzer Abstecher zum Miradouro und dann auf der Strasse nach Jardim da Serra, neben der Strasse kann man die alten verfallenen Überreste der zuführenden Levada der Levada da Rouca entdecken.

Auf dem Rückweg machten wir noch einen Abstecher zur Boca das Namorados, ein trostloser Platz mit einem fantastischem Blick auf Curral das Freiras.

Distanz: 19.4 Km, 1100 Hm Aufstieg, 1100 Hm Abstieg

Ende: 17.15 Jardim da Serra

Zustand: Levada in gutem Zustand
Aufstieg zu den Casas auf Piste und im Gras recht gut bis zu den Casas do Dr. Alberto, danach teilweise zugewachsen und Improvisation nötig bis zur Piste bei der Casa do Pestana, danach Schotterpisten bis zum Grat
Pico da Cruz weglos, aber gut begehbar, Gratpiste stark zugewachsen, ebenso kurz vor Chao dos Terreiris bis zur Boca da Corrida

Bemerkungen: Alternativ könnte man ab Trompica zur Piste absteigen und auf dieser bis Boca da Corrida
