Anfahrt: Canico - Ribeira Brava - Sao Vicente - Seixal - durch den Nottunnel im Tunnel der VE 2 im Tunel Faja das Contreiras nach Ribeira Funda

Verlauf: Aufstieg auf dem alten Königsweg CR 23 auf das Ende der Vereda da Tranquada, Aufstieg über die Vereda dos Castanheiros (mit kurzem Wegtest nach Westen) nach Fanal, Abstieg zur Levada dos Cedros.
Auf dieser bis Curral Falso und weiter auf dem PR13, teilweise auf der ER 209, auf einer abzweigenden Schotterpiste und teilweise neu angelegten Trailpfaden zur Vereda da Tranquada, welche ebenfalls ein Teil des alten CR 23 ist.
Auf dieser wieder zurück und Abstieg nach Ribeira Funda.


Distanz: 21.6 Km, 1100 Hm Aufstieg, 1100 Hm Abstieg

Start: 10.45 Ribeira Funda

Ende: 19.30 Ribeira Funda

Zustand: Der Aufstieg von Ribeira Funda zur Tranquada ist zu Beginn schön herausgeputzt, danach zunehmend zugewachsen und in den Bachbetten etwas ruppig, vor allem im Abstieg.
Die Vereda dos Castanheiros ist in gutem Zustand, teilweise sehr steil, aber häufig mit alten Steinstufen versehen
Die Levada dos Cedros war sehr gut gefüllt und der Weg dadurch teilweise matschig und sehr nass. Alle kritischen Stellen sind intakt und gut gesichert.
Der PR13 ist im Abstieg nicht ganz so entspannend mit vielen teils rutschigen Stufen und Steinpassagen, aber ungefährlich.
Die Abkürzung über Schotterpiste und Trailpfade gut in Stand, abwärts rutschig.
Die Vereda da Tranquada ist in gutem Zustand, es wurde eine neue Brücke erstellt, wo die alte Brücke weggerissen wurde.

Bemerkungen: Konditionell anspruchsvolle Wanderung ohne besondere technische Schwierigkeiten oder gefährliche Passagen, wie immer sind die Abstiege vorsichtig zu bewältigen.
