Die letzten 2 Monate verbrachten wir im klassischen Rucksacktravellerland. Wobei wir auch hier versucht haben, nicht den ausgetretenen Pfaden zu folgen. Wenn man mehr Zeit hat, kann man auch ein Projekt wie Sulawesi angehen, hier waren wir dann auch eher alleine unterwegs.
Torajaland in Südsulawesi war ausserordentlich schön, auch wenn es jeden Tag ab 15.00 geregnet hat. Die Felsengräber um Rantepao und die Reisfelder sind sehr eindrücklich.
Eine Aktivität de besonderen Art war auch die Besteigung des Merapi, der kurze Zeit später erneut ausbrach und grossen Schaden anrichtete. Echte Schwerstarbeit, wir mussten die Wege am Vortag bei Tageslicht inspizieren, sind dann um Mitternacht gestartet und haben die Baumgrenze zum Sonnenaufgang erreicht. Insgesamt 1700 Höhenmeter bis zum Kraterrand, das war schon hart, aber wir waren mittlerweile ziemlich fit! Auch der Sonnenaufgang auf dem Bromo war eindrücklich, auch wenn wir dort nicht alleine unterwegs waren.
Unsere Motorradwoche in Bali ist Vreni bis heute ein Graus geblieben, war auch ziemlich mutig, auf den Strassen, zwischen den Hühnern und neben den Bemos und Bussen sich vorzuarbeiten. Dafür haben wir sehr viel von der Insel gesehen, was man sonst verpasst.
Die letzten 2 Wochen haben wir nur noch wenig unternommen, es war zu heiss und wir waren müde nach einem Jahr Herumreisen. Aber die Strände dort sind ja perfekt dazu geeignet, nichts zu machen!
